So are the hazards of playing baseball in Japan. having enough players because of Japanese holiday, Oboun (google it) BASEBALL YEAR 'ROUND!!! You should never do anything else! For the first time ever, the franchise can make it through a season without forfeiting a game. What an amazing accomplishment that would be! Team USA takes the field in December, but that’s a whole ‘nother story. Team awards will be voted on and announced before Xmas. On Sunday, April 3, Joshua Corpening pitched the first perfect game in Hawks' history, a 6-0 victory in the 1st round of the Fussa tournament; 21 up, 21 down. The 13 strikeouts he pitched are also a record. Ryouta Hosono, the Hawks Fussa Tournament Manager and lone Japanese player, was the batterymate. The same battery combined for three perfect innings in the 11-0 mercy ruling of their opponent in round 2.
